Attorney David Tobin is a 1975 graduate of the Claude W. Pettit College of Law at Ohio Northern University which he attended following his 1971 degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University. David graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1967.
Following receipt of his law license in 1975 David began practice with his uncle, Paul Tobin, in the family law firm. In 1987 David was elected the Common Pleas Court bench for Columbiana County Ohio where he served until his retirement from public service in 2010. He began his public service as the elected Columbiana County Prosecuting Attorney a position he held from 1977 to 1987.
In 2011 David returned to the practice of law with the Payne Law Office, of counsel, the successor to the family law firm.
In addition to being admitted to the practice of law in Ohio, David is a member of the bar of the United States District Court for Ohio, Northern and Southern Districts, and the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States. He maintains membership in the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbiana County Bar Association.
He is currently a member of and chair of the Columbiana County Certified Grievance Committee. David also served for twenty-four years on the Board of Commissioners on Character and Fitness for the Supreme Court of Ohio where he served two terms as chair.
David is a member of the Rotary Club of Calcutta, Ohio, the Tri-State Camera Club, and the Alumni Association of The Ohio State University.
David and his wife, Becky in Calcutta and have two adult children.
